Shiro | Suji Ka Halwa | Gujarati Sweet Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Ganesh Chaturthi Recipe, Shiro a traditional dessert prepared on various festivities and suapacious days in India. May it be Ganesh Chaturthi or Diwali or Holi Sooji ka Halwa is a favourite delicacy to have. This tasty recipe is also prepared during the preparation of Union Budgets in Indian Parliament. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • 1 Cup of Semolina
  • 2 Cups of Milk
  • ½ Cup of Sugar
  • Pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • Almonds, Cashews and Pistachios to garnish
Procedure:
  1. Take 4-5 Tablespoons of Clarified Butter (Ghee).
  2. Once it is heated add a cup of semolina (sooji).
  3. Fry semolina well till it absorbs all the clarified butter.
  4. Now, add 2 cups of milk and stir the mixture well. Close the lid and cook it for 5 minutes.
  5. Add ½ cup of sugar and stir the mixture to dissolve it. Again close the lid and cook the mixture for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. At the end add a pinch of green cardamom powder and relish a classic Indian Dessert.
