Shahi Paneer Recipe | Paneer Nu Shaak | Gujarati Rasoi

Shahi Paneer is a Jain Paneer Recipe without onion or garlic. This recipe consists of grated paneer cooked in tomato-cream based gravy. Enjoy this recipe with Naan or Paratha.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • 200 gm Cottage Cheese (Paneer)
  • 6 Tomatoes
  • 3- 4 Green chillies
  • 1 -1.5 inch Ginger
  • ¾ Cup of Curd
  • ¼ Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon of Coriander-Cumin Seed Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon of Garam Masala
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Clarified Butter
Procedure:
  1. Make a paste of green chillies and ginger.
  2. In a blend the tomatoes with curd in a food processor.
  3. Now in a shallow bottomed utensil, add 3 -4 teaspoons of clarified butter (Desi Ghee).
  4. Once the ghee gets heated, add the green chillies- ginger paste and fry the paste properly.
  5. Now add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander-cumin seed powder and garam masala. Fry the spices and cook them well.
  6. Once the spices are cooked, add the tomato-curd paste and stir the ingredients well.
  7. Cover the lid and cook the tomatoes for about 10 minutes.
  8. After 10 minutes, add water for a gravy consistency.
  9. Add salt and sugar as per taste.
  10. Grate fresh Cottage Cheese (Paneer) and cook it for another 5 minutes.
  11. Royal Cottage Cheese (Shahi Paneer) is ready to relish.
