Methi Nu Shaak | Gujarati Shaak Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi


This recipe consists of healthy methi cooked in traditional sengdana (peanut) gravy. The gravy is given a spicy taste with fresh green chilies. This quick recipe is common in the villages.   • 300 Grams Methi (Fenugreek)
  • ½ Cup Roasted Peanuts
  • 12-15 Green Chilies
  • 8-10 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida
  • Salt
  • Oil
Method -
  1. In a grinder make a paste of peanuts, green chilies, cumin seeds and garlic.
  2. Now in a utensil heat some oil and add asafetida.
  3. Add the fenugreek and cook for 3-4 minutes and then turn over and again cook for 3-4 mi-nutes till the methi is reduced.
  4. Add the previously made peanut paste and mix well.
  5. Add water as per requirement and add salt as per taste.
  6. Cook with closed lid for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Methi Peanut Curry is ready.
