Masoor Pulao | Pulao Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Pulao is an all time favorite rice recipe enjoyed in every family dinner. Masoor Pulao is a vegetarian pulao recipe consisting of nutritious masoor dal also known as brown lentils cooked in some aromatic spices. The recipe is easy to make as it is made using pressure cooker to save the cooking time. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 1.5 Cups Soaked Masoor Dal (Brown Lentils)
  • 3 Cups Rice
  • ½ Cup Curd ( Malai )
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 3 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks ( Dalchini )
  • 4-5 Black peppercorns ( Sabut Kali Mirch )
  • 4-5 Cloves ( Laung )
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Water
Method:
  1. Heat some oil and add dalchini, laung and sabut kali mirch.
  2. Add chopped onion and stir till it turns golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala and stir well.
  4. Add curd and mix well.
  5. Now add masoor dal, rice and some water. Mix well.
  6. Add salt and mix well.
  7. Cook the rice in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.
  8. Masoor Pulao is ready.
