Kobi Bataka Nu Shaak | Gujarati Shaak Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Kobi Bateta Nu Shaak is traditional Gujarati recipe which is prepared as a everyday shaak recipe in Gujarati households. This recipe consists of cabbage and potatoes cooked in traditional Gujarati spices. This recipe is a quick recipe to make and can be a useful recipe for working women.   • 250 Grams Chopped Cabbage
  • 3 Diced Potatoes
  • 1 Diced Tomato
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Coriander-Cumin Seed Powder (Dhana Jeera)
  • 1.5-2 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt
Procedure:
  1. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, cumin seeds and diced potatoes.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Now add turmeric powder, close lid and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Open lid and add dhana jeera powder and red chilli powder.
  5. Add a diced tomato and mix well.
  6. Stir till tomato softens.
  7. Now add 250 Grams chopped cabbage.
  8. Add salt and mix well.
  9. Close lid and cook for5-7 minutes.
  10. Add sugar and mix well.
  11. Add some coriander leaves and kobi bataka nu shaak is ready.
