Kankoda Nu Shaak | Gujarati Shaak Recipes | Guajrati Rasoi

Kantola or Kantoda is a very nutritious vegetable which is available only in the rainy season. Kontola Nu Shaak is a tasty & healthy recipe to make. In this recipe Kantolas are cooked in traditional Gujarati masalas. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 500 Grams Chopped Spiny Gourd (Kantola)
  • 2 Finely Chopped Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 2 Teaspoons of Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 2-2.5 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Oil
Procedure:
  1. Heat oil & add carom seeds, asafoetida, green chillies, and turmeric powder and stir well.
  2. Now add chopped spiny gourd and mix well.
  3. Add salt as per taste and cook for 3-5 minutes with closed lid.
  4. Now add red chilli powder, dhana jeera powder and sugar. Mix well.
  5. Add some coriander leaves and Kankoda Nu Shaak is ready to eat.
