Green Uttapam is a recipe with a twist of taste in the incredibly tasty Uttapam from the kitchens of Tamil Nadu. Fresh Palak makes this Uttapa not only tasty but also healthy. This recipe is a perfect healthy breakfast for any morning. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • ¾ Cups of Spinach Puree (Palak Puree)
  • 2 Cups of Semolina (Rava/Sooji)
  • 1.5 Teaspoon of Finely Refined Flour (Maida)
  • 1.5 Teaspoon of Gram Flour (Besan)
  • ½ Cup of Finely Chopped Onions
  • 2 Finely Chopped Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)
  • 1 Teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch Powder)
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Water
Procedure:
  1. In a mixing bowl, take semolina (rava/sooji), finely refined flour (maida), gram flour (besan), chopped onions, chopped green chillies, red chilli powder (lal mirch powder), palak puree (spinach puree) and salt.
  2. Mix the ingredients well. Add sufficient water so that the batter for the uttapam is ready as shown in the video.
  3. Now, on a flat bottomed vessel pour some oil.
  4. Pour the batter and spread it in a circular manner to make a perfect circle for the uttapam.
  5. Cook it from both sides.
  6. 6. Enjoy the green uttapam with tomato red chutney or with white coconut chutney.
