Curd Rice is a simple and a favourite South Indian Rice Recipe that is prepared not only at homes but also in temples of south India. This is simple rice recipe is prepared from leftover rice and curd with some tadka of aromatic spices. This is an excellent leftover rice recipe that could be prepared instantly with minimum ingredients. The tadka that we add to the rice gives the rice a spicy flavour and makes the recipe exciting and tasty. Do try out this South Indian recipe and let us know about the taste. Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 1 Cup Steamed Rice
  • 2 Cups Curd
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon White Lentil (Urad Dal)
  • 5-6 Curry Leaves
  • 3-4 Split Green Chilies
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • Sugar
  • Salt
Method –
  1. Whisk 2 cups of curd along with some sugar and salt as per taste.
  2. Add this curd to 1 cup of steamed rice and mix well.
  3. For the tadka heat some ghee add cumin seeds, urad dal (white lentils), kaddi patta (curry leaves), green chillies and turmeric powder.
  4. Add this tadka to the rice and mix well.
  5. Curd Rice is ready.
