Sabudana Vada | Upvas Recipes | Gujarati Rasoi

The fluffy, crunchy and tasty vadas are made up of sago (sabudana) and potatoes along with some spices. This recipe is often prepared for Upvas during the month of Shravan or during the Gujarati festival of Navratri. Recipe: Ingredients-
  • 500 gms of Sabudana (Sago)
  • 2 Potatoes
  • ½ Cup of yogurt (dahi)
  • 3-4 Teaspoons Roasted and Grinded Peanuts (Singdana)
  • 4-5 Grinded Green Chillies
  • Handful of Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Oil
Method-
  1. Soak sabudana (sago) in water overnight for nice fluffy vadas.
  2. Add green chillies, grinded roasted peanuts and yogurt (dahi).
  3. Grate 2 potatoes and add a handful of coriander leaves (dhania)
  4. Add salt as per taste and mix the ingredients well.
  5. Rest the mixture for about 20-30 minutes for the sabudana to soak the flavour and for nic fluffy vadas.
  6. Now make the vadas as shown in the video and deep fry them till they turn brown.
  7. Perfectly fluffy and crunchy vadas are ready.
