Makhana Nu Shaak | Makhana Curry | Gujarati Rasoi

Makhana is a perfect alternative to the usual Paneer ki Sabzi for Vegetarians. This vegetarian recipe of phool makhana is easy to make and can be a perfect dinner recipe for your family. Makhana curry recipe consists of roasted makhana cooked in creamy kaju curry. Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 100- 150 Grams Roasted Makhana
  • 8-10 Diced Tomatoes
  • 15-20 Soaked Cashews
  • 1 Cup Fresh Cream
  • 4-5 Green Chilies
  • 1 Inch Ginger
  • 2-3 Dried Red Chilies
  • 3- 4 Bay Leaves (Tej Patta)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Dhana-Jeera Powder
  • 3 Teaspoons Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 Teaspoon Kasuri Methi
  • Salt
Method –
  1. Make a paste of tomatoes, soaked cashews, green chilies, ginger and cream.
  2. Roast the makhanas and keep aside.
  3. In a kadhai heat some oil and add dried chillies and tej patta. Stir well.
  4. Add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder and kasuri methi. Mix well.
  5. Add the previously made paste and mix well.
  6. Close lid and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Add red chili powder and garam masala.
  8. Add salt as per taste and water as per requirement.
  9. Add the makhanas and cook for a while.
  10. Phool Makhana Curry Recipe is ready.
