Corn is available prominently in the rainy season. This corn recipe is a very tasty and easy recipe and is often prepared in the rainy season. Makai No Chevdo is a traditional Gujarati recipe which is often enjoyed at the breakfast. This recipe consists of cinnamon and cloves powder which gives an unique taste to the recipe. Ingredients:
- 3 Corns
- 2-3 Teaspoons Milk
- 2-2.5 Teaspoon Roasted Peanut Powder (Singdana Powder)
- 1 -1.5 Teaspoon Green Chilli Paste (Hari Mirch Paste)
- 1-1.5 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
- ½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
- 10-12 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
- ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- ½ Teaspoon Cinnamon-Cloves Powder (Dalchini-Laung Powder)
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- 1 Teaspoon Sugar
- Salt
- Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
- Oil
- Grate the corns well.
- Heat oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, sesame seeds and sauté it.
- Now add previously grated corn to it. Fry it for 5-7 minutes on a medium flame.
- Add turmeric powder, green chilli paste, roasted peanut powder and mix well.
- Add Cinnamon-Cloves powder, lemon juice, sugar and salt as per taste.
- Add milk and stir well.
- Add some coriander leaves and mix well. Makai No Chevdo is ready to eat.
