Kansar | Gujarati Sweet Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Kansar is a popular Gujarati Sweet recipe which is prepared using cracked wheat and jaggery. Serving Kansar to guests in considered a sign of respect in Gujarati culture. This dish is often prepared in traditional Gujarati wedding ceremonies. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Kansar (Cracked Wheat)
  • ¾ Cup Jaggery (Gud)
  • Ghee
  • Water
Method:
  1. In kansar, add 2 teaspoons of ghee and mix well.
  2. Now boil 2-2.5 cups of water. After water is boiled add 2 teaspoons of ghee and ¾ cup of jaggery.
  3. Melt the jaggery well in the water.
  4. Now add the previously made kansar in it.
  5. Now place this vessel to steam in a cooker.
  6. Pressure cook for 1 whistle.
  7. Kansar is ready to eat.
