Thepla is a popular Guajarati dish and is often eaten for breakfast. Thepla is a very useful Gujarati dish that can be packed for travelling or for a picnic. This Gujarati recipe of Thepla is very famous not only in Gujarat but all across the world. Theplas are not only tasty but are also healthy as they contain vegetables and wheat flour. Recipe: Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups of Wheat Flour (Gehun ka Atta)
  • 500 Grams Bottle Gourd (Dudhi)
  • 2-3 Teaspoons Curd (Dahi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Green Chilli Paste (Hari Mirch Paste)
  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic Paste (Adrak-Lehsun Paste)
  • 1 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch)
  • 1 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • ½ Cup Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
  • Salt
  • Oil
Method:
  1. In a mixing bowl, take some wheat flour and add grated & squeezed bottle gourd.
  2. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, green chilli paste, ginger garlic paste, sesame seeds, curd and coriander leaves.
  3. Add some oil and knead the dough.
  4. Take some portion of the dough and flatten it.
  5. Dust it with flour and roll it into a roti.
  6. Roast this roti on a pan and Theplas are ready to eat.
