Vadodara Street Food - Khichu Recipe | Papdi No Lot | Gujarati Rasoi

Papdi No Lot is a popular street food which available all over Gujarat. If you ever visit Gujarat you cannot miss to try out the world famous Papdi No Lot which is also known as Khichu. Khichu is basically made up of rice flour cooked with green chillies, ajwain and cumin seeds. This recipe is served with a dash of oil and achaar masala. Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 2 Cups of Water
  • 1 Cup Rice Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 4-5 Chopped Green Chillies
  • ¾ Teaspoon Papad Khar/ Baking Soda
  • Salt
Method –
  1. Heat water and after a boil add carom seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies and salt.
  2. Let the water boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Now add ¾ Teaspoon Papad Khar or Baking Soda.
  4. Add Rice Flour and mix well till it thickens.
  5. Let the mixture cool.
  6. Make long rolls of the mixture and steam it in a cooker.
  7. After the rolls are cooked, cut it into pieces and top it with oil and achaar masala.
