Kanda Bhaji or Onion Pakora is a quick tea time snack enjoyed widely in the rainy season. A traditional Mahrashtrian recipe is a popular snack of the city of Mumbai. Enjoy the crispy, spicy and tasty recipe of Kanda Bhaji with your tea. Recipe: Ingredients-
  • 4 Large Onions
  • 1 Cup of Gram Flour
  • 1 teaspoon of Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon coriander seed- cumin seed powder (Dhania- Jeera powder)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Handful of coriander leaves
  • Green chillies
Method-
  1. Julienne cut the onions as shown in the video.
  2. Add 1 cup of gram flour to the onions and mix it well.
  3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander seed- cumin seed powder (Dhania- Jeera Powder) to the mixture.
  4. Add salt as per taste and a handful of fresh coriander leaves to the mixture.
  5. Mix the ingredients well and add 1- 1.5 cups of water for a thick batter consistency.
  6. Take oil in a shallow bottomed utensil for frying the Kanda Bhajis (Onion Fritters).
  7. Drop a handful of batter in the oil and fry it from all the sides till they turn Golden Brown in colour.
  8. Once the Kanda Bhaji (Onion Fritters) are fried well, serve them hot with tomato sauce and fried green chillies.
