Makai Nu Shaak | Corn Matar Masala | Gujarati Rasoi

  • 10-12 Sliced Baby Corn
  • 250 Grams Green Peas
  • 4 Roughly Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 1 Cup Fresh Cream
  • 10-12 Soaked Cashews
  • 4-5 Green Chilies
  • 1 Inch Ginger
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • Pinch of Asafoetida
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Handful of Coriander
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Salt
Method –
  1. In a grinder make a paste of ginger, green chilies, soaked cashews, tomatoes and fresh cream.
  2. Shallow fry the baby corn and green peas.
  3. Now heat some oil and add jeera, hing and chopped onions.
  4. When the onions turn golden brown add turmeric powder and previously made paste.
  5. Cook the tomato paste well in the oil.
  6. Now add dhana jeera powder, garam masala and red chili powder. Mix well.
  7. Add previously fried baby corn and matar.
  8. Add salt as per taste and stir well.
  9. Add sugar and some water.
  10. Sprinkle some freshly chopped coriander leaves and cook for about 3-5 minutes.
  11. Corn matar is ready.
