Gujarati Recipe presents Vada Pav with a twist of spicy chutney, cheese and crispy onions. This Mumbai style Vada Pav would definitely tickle your taste buds and would tempt you with the crispy Vada and Cheese. This tasty recipe has the creamy taste butter and the recipe is easy to make. Recipe: Ingredients- For Green Chillies-Ginger-Garlic Paste:
  • 8-10 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 1 Inch of Ginger
For Potato Filling:
  • 8-10 Boiled and Mashed Potatoes
  • 1 Teaspoon of Mustard Seeds
  • 12-15 Curry Leaves
  • Pinch of Asafoetida
  • ¼ Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder
  • Salt
  • Oil
For Batter:
  • 2.5 Cups of Gram Flour
  • ¼ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • Salt
  • Water
Other ingredients:
  • Fried Green chillies
  • Buns
  • Cheese
  • Sliced Onions
  • Spicy Chutney
  • Butter
  • Oil for frying
Method-
  1. Make the paste of green chillies, garlic and ginger.
  2. Take some oil in a shallow pan and heat it.
  3. Once the oil is heated add a mustard seeds, curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida.
  4. Stir the ingredients well and now add the green chillies-ginger-garlic paste
  5. Stir the paste well and then add 8-10 boiled and mashed potatoes.
  6. Cook the potatoes well.
  7. Add salt as per taste and ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder.
  8. Mix the ingredients well and cook it for about 2 minutes.
  9. Take gram flour, add turmeric powder and salt along with water to make a thick batter for the Vadas.
  10. Now take oil to deep fry the Vadas.
  11. Make medium size balls of the potato filling, dip it in the batter and fry it in hot oil.
  12. Fry the Vadas well from all sides and take it out.
  13. Now, on a flat frying pan take some butter and add the spicy chutney. Cut the buns in half as shown in video and roast it in the masala on the both sides.
  14. Now, in this bun put the Vada, some slices of onions and grate some cheese.
  15. Close the upper part of the bun and serve Masala Vada Pav with Fried Green Chillies.
