Surti Locho Recipe | Surat Street Food | Gujarati Rasoi

Surti Locho recipe is a popular street food of Surat and is a recipe which is very easy to make and is loved by everyone. This Surat street food recipe consists of a chana dal based locho topped with traditional Locho masala, onions, green chutney, sev and butter. Locho masala recipe is included in this video as the masala is very important of the traditional Locho recipe of Surat. Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 2 Cup Chana Dal
  • 1 Tablespoon Urad Dal
  • 1 Tablespoon Gram Flour
  • 2 Teaspoon Ginger-Green Chilli Paste
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2-3 Teaspoon Oil
  • 1 Eno Sachet
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seed Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Black Salt
  • 1.5 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • Butter
  • Chopped Onions
  • Sev
  • Green Chutney
  • Water
Method –
  1. Soak chana dal and urad dal for 5-6 hours separately.
  2. Then grind them separately and make a thick batter.
  3. In this batter add turmeric powder, ginger-green chilli paste, oil, salt and gram flour.
  4. Mix the batter well.
  5. Now grease as vessel well with oil
  6. Add Eno to the batter and around 2 teaspoon water and stir the mixture well and then add it to the vessel.
  7. Let the mixture steam for 10 minutes on high flame and 10 minutes on low flame.
  8. For locho masala mix jeera powder, black salt and red chilli powder well.
  9. Serve the Locho on a plate.
  10. Top it with butter, chopped onion, locho masala, sev and green chutney.
  11. Original Surti Locho is ready to enjoy.
