Learn how to make Misal Pav - Spicy Curry With Bread - Maharashtrian Street Food Snacks Recipe By Gujarati Rasoi Maharashtra is very well known for its street food. Misal pav is one of the popular, traditional Indian dishes that falls under the street food category. It consists of spicy curry and is topped with some delicious misal chivda/sev or any farsan of your choice. Ingredients –
  • 300 Grams Mix Sprouts
  • 2 Finely chopped Onions
  • ½ Cup of Coconut
  • 5-7 Green Chilies
  • 8-10 Garlic Cloves
  • 1.5 Inch Ginger
  • 10-15 Curry Leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • ¼ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 2 Teaspoon Coriander-Cumin Seed Powder (Dhana Jeera Powder)
  • 2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Farsan
Method –
  1. Make a paste of coconut, green chilies, ginger and garlic.
  2. Add salt and boil 300 grams of mix sprouts.
  3. Heat some oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves and finely chopped onions.
  4. Cook the onions till they turn golden brown.
  5. Now add the previously made paste and mix well.
  6. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala and dhana jeera powder.
  7. Add the boiled sprouts and mix well.
  8. Add water as per requirement and salt as per taste.
  9. Let the mixture come to a boil and take it off the gas.
  10. Serve the sprouts and the gravy in a bowl. Top it with farsan, coriander, onion and a slice of lemon.
