Gujarati Methi Thepla | Thepla Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 250 Grams Finely Chopped Fenugreek (Methi)
  • ½ Cup of Coriander Leaves
  • ½ Cup Dahi
  • 2 Cups of Wheat Flour
  • 8-10 Green Chilies
  • 8 -10 Garlic Cloves
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • 1 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Coriander-Cumin Powder (Dhana Jeera Powder)
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Ghee
Method –
  1. Make a paste of green chilies, garlic and cumin seeds.
  2. Take 2 cups of wheat flour and add finely chopped methi.
  3. Add coriander leaves and previously prepared paste.
  4. Now add the masalas namely turmeric powder, red chili powder and dhana jeera powder.
  5. Add the sesame seeds, lemon juice, sugar and salt.
  6. Add dahi and 2-3 teaspoons of oil. Make a dough of the mixture and add water if required.
  7. Roll out the theplas and roast them on a tawa with desi ghee.
