Frankie Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

Frakie is a popular street food of Mumbai and is a quick to eat snacks recipe. Frankie consists of a tangy & spicy potato filling served in a roll made up of roti. Frankie consists of some green chillies and chopped onion which give the recipe a spicy and crunchy taste. So do try out this easy to make Frankie recipe. Recipe: Ingredients – For Stuffing:
  • 8-10 Boiled Mashed Potatoes
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoons Green Chilli (Hari Mirch) Paste
  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1-1.5 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch)
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 Teaspoon Chaat Masala
  • Salt
  • Coriander Leaves
  • 2 Teaspoons Butter
For Vinegar-Green Chilli Mix:
  • Vinegar
  • Chopped Green Chilli
For Onion Mix:
  • Chopped Onions
  • Red Chilli Powder
  • Dried Mango (Amchur) Powder
  • Salt
For Making Frankie:
  • Slightly roasted Maida/ Wheat Rotis
  • Butter
Method –
  1. Melt butter in a pan and add green chilli paste and ginger-garlic paste. Fry it well.
  2. Now add red chilli powder and garam masala. Mix well.
  3. Now add the boiled and mashed potatoes and mix well.
  4. Add chaat masala and salt as per taste.
  5. Add some coriander leaves and our stuffing is ready.
  6. To make vinegar-green chilli mix, add some vinegar to chopped green chill and mix well.
  7. For the onion mix, mix red chilli powder, dried mango (amchur) powder and salt in chopped onions.
  8. Now take some butter and roast the rotis.
  9. Place the roti on a flat surface, sprinkle some amchur powder.
  10. Make a long shape out of the stuffing and place it on the roti.
  11. Add the vinegar-green chilli mix, onion mix and sprinkle some chaat masala.
  12. Roll the roti and our Mumbai style Frankie is ready to eat.
