Dal Makhani | Punjabi Dal Makhani Recipe | Gujarati Rasoi

  • 150 Grams Boiled Kali Urad Dal
  • 50 Grams Boiled Rajma
  • 1 Cup Cream
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • Puree of 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 Chopped Green Chilies
  • 2 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 3 Pieces of Cinnamon
  • 1 Black Cardamom
  • 3 Cloves
  • 3 Bay Leaves
  • 3 Teaspoons Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 Teaspoon Kasoori Methi
  • Oil
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Ghee
  • Charcoal
Method –
  1. Heat 4-5 teaspoons oil and add 2 teaspoon butter.
  2. Now add the khada masala i.e. cloves, black cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaves.
  3. Add 1 chopped onion and cook till it turns golden brown.
  4. Now add 2 chopped green chilies and 2 teaspoons of ginger garlic paste.
  5. Add tomato puree and cook the puree well.
  6. Add red chili powder and mix well.
  7. Add the boiled urad dal and boiled rajma and mix it with the makhani masala.
  8. Add water as per requirement and stir well.
  9. Add salt to taste and mix.
  10. Close lid and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  11. Add garam masala and kasoori methi and mix well.
  12. Add 1 Cup Cream and stir well.
  13. Now place a vessel in the center of kadhai and put hot charcoal.
  14. Pour some ghee and close the lid immediately to give a smoky flavor to the dal.
  15. Dal Makhani is ready.
