Chole or Chickpeas are boiled and our prepared in masala consisting of khada masala and a paste of green chilies, ginger and coconut.
Recipe: Ingredients –
  • 250 Grams Kabuli Chana (Chickpeas)
  • 3 Chopped Onions
  • Chopped Tomato
  • 12-15 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 ½ Inch Ginger
  • 4-5 Green Chilies
  • ¼ Cup Coconut
  • ½ Cup Coriander
  • 4-5 Black Peppercorns
  • 2-3 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 2-3 Bay Leaves (Tej Pattta)
  • 3 Cardamoms
  • 1 Black Cardamom
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • ½ Turmeric Powder
  • 1 ½ Garam Masala
  • 3 Dhana Jeera Powder
  • 3 Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
  • Salt
  • Oil
Method –
  1. Make a paste of ginger, garlic, coconut and coriander leaves.
  2. Now heat some oil and add khada masala like black peppercorns, dalchini, tej patta, hari elaichi, kali elaichi and laung.
  3. Stir well and then add chopped onion. Stir till it turns golden brown.
  4. Add previously made paste and stir well.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and let them cook.
  6. Now add turmeric powder, kashmiri lal mirch powder, dhana jeera powder, garam masala and mix well.
  7. Add the boiled kabuli chana and mix well.
  8. Add water and salt and let the sabji cook for 5-7 minutes.
  9. Chole are ready.
